Azienda Agricola Pantano is a family-owned company in northeast Italy. Our company produces many different varieties of grapes, including Prosecco DOC, Chardonnay, and Pinot Grigio. However, grapes are not only our main interest. We are also developing a new way of growing grapes in the era of automation with this simple idea in mind.

Our company was founded in 1872 by Pietro Pantano in Candiana, Italy. Since then, we have focused on both cultivating grapes and developing innovations in vine growing. Our vineyard was the first in our region to implement the use of machines for maintaining the fields, and the first to grow Prosecco grapes.

The idea of building a robot came to the developer Giorgio ten years ago to improve the lives and safety of the employees who tended the fields. With more than twenty years of experience in computer programming, including experience at IBM and three software design companies, Giorgio designed Rovitis to bring together his two life passions: wine and technological innovation. We have used Rovitis to spray and dust our fields since 2008.
